What do I want from EDL/500?
EDL/500 Personal Leadership, the beginning of improving my ability to lead. I think it's the perfect course to begin the Teacher Leadership program. I hope that this course will challenge me to reflect on my personal leadership styles, preferences, and areas of growth. I feel that starting with a focused topic will prepare me for my future courses, like a a pebble and a pond, and the wave it creates.

ReplyDeleteI believe this course is a perfect start for the Teacher Leadership Program also. I am thinking about leadership in ways I never have before. During the first week of class I felt that you have the potential to be a great teacher leader. I like the thought of the pebble in the pond creating a wave.
I try to remind myself of that when I am in a bad mood especially. I remember that a sharp comment or an inpatient response doesn't just effect the person I am talking to.
ReplyDeleteAmie The ripple effect of what we say and do does always come back to us in some form. So when we begin to take on leadership roles, I agree, we have to be aware at all times how our responses to a given stuation will impact others.
ReplyDeleteI really like your analogy of the pebble in the pond. I am really enjoying this course so far and have already learned so much about myself in regard to my strengths and leadership qualities. Having this understanding really does help improve your overall relationships both in the classroom, within a team setting, and personally (i.e. at home!).
